August 16, 2017, marks 5 years since the Marikana Massacre. On this day five years ago, 34 mineworkers were killed, 78 wounded and 250 people were arrested. The protesting mineworkers were demanding a wage of R12 500 from their employer Lonmin platinum mine. To find out more about the progress around Lonmin and developments since that fatal event were joined in studio by John Capel from the Bench Marks Foundation.
